The GWA Travel Collective team and I had the pleasure of exploring these El Dorado properties and learning about their “More Inclusive” program.
What is the “More Inclusive Program?”

More Inclusive™ is available to you at any of our eight resorts in the beautiful Riviera Maya: El Dorado Maroma, El Dorado Royale, El Dorado Casitas Royale, El Dorado Seaside Palms, El Dorado Seaside Suites, Generations Riviera Maya, Palafitos Overwater Bungalows, and Hidden Beach Au Naturel Resort. Each location offers a gateway to the natural beauty and fascinating culture of the region.
I will get more into what this program entails, as well as some of the highlights of our visit, but first,
What is a “FAM” trip?
No, it is not a family trip, though it will help us plan yours (see: Generations Rivera Maya Resort)!
A “FAM” trip is a Familiarization trip that Advisors get invited to by Suppliers, Brands, Tourism Boards, etc. to educate themselves on all of their offerings, properties, packages, and so much more. We get to learn about the properties and amenities while experiencing them first hand in order to help you plan your perfect getaway.
This trip was hosted by the Lomas Hospitality Group who oversee the El Dorado Properties, who have eight incredible properties in the Riviera Maya.
It would be impossible to highlight all of the magic of all eight resorts, so these are the cliff notes, and we will discuss which property and package is best for you when we plan your perfect getaway at one of these incredible El Dorado properties.
Royale Group
Located a convenient 35 minutes from Cancun International airport, this group of three properties boasts over 10 restaurants to choose from and has golf carts to take you from one property to the next. The Royale Group offers the ultimate vacation escape, especially with the More Inclusive options, which are available at all three properties.
Traveling with littles? This is the ideal property for you! The only family-friendly of the eight El Dorado properties, Generations Rivera Maya Resort goes above and beyond to make sure the whole family is taken care of. This resort assures your stay with kids is comfortable and convenient with each room offering a stroller, crib, bottle warmer, and even access to babysitters on site so parents can enjoy an excursion or romantic dinner away, knowing their kids are safe and cared for.
The majority of rooms feature a swim out pool as part of the suite, for the ultimate undisturbed enjoyment and convenience.
Adults staying at the resort also have access to the restaurants on the Casitas Royale side of the property.
Boasting eight enclaves of Casistias Suites, El Dorado Casitas Royale has four enclaves connected by a lazy river and the other four have updated bungalows.
There is no way to choose a wrong room here. The enclaves connect by lazy river allow ground floor guests to swim out and walk in the pool to the enclave’s private swim up bar. Upper level guests of the enclave feature swim out suites as well.
The El Dorado Casitas Royale bungalows feature their own private pool with a swim-up bar.
Situated right next door to El Dorado Casitas Royale, El Dorado Royale is an expansive property offering several different room categories with swim-out suites, private garden views with terraces and balconies. Also featuring, party pools, quiet pools, and an abundance of food options this property truly offers something for everyone.
The Maroma Group
Just 45 minutes from Cancun airport, these two properties are located on the stunning Maroma Beach, named one of the top beaches by Travel and Leisure. Both properties are adults only and promise to be where freedom and exclusivity intertwine. The Maroma Group properties are situated alongside the More Inclusive Maroma Beach club.
El Dorado Maroma hotel just renovated a section called Mi hotelito, featuring modern interior design and finished with ancient Mayan techniques to keep the room cool all the time. While the oceanfront swim-out suites were my absolute favorite room category, these newly renovated rooms are where it is at.
The Mi hotelito section also has a taqueria nearby, a sports bar, and a newly renovated pool with sleek and sexy modern tile.
This resort is an ideal choice for those looking to escape and connect with each other.
Think: romance and relaxation.
Looking for ultra privacy? Indulge in Mexico’s first overwater bungalows at Palafitos.
Featuring simple designs, these rooms offer the ultimate privacy and relaxation.
Each bungalow has an oversized jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, private plunge pool, sunning deck, and direct access into the ocean.
In addition, Palafitos guests have exclusive access to a private restaurant on site, and a special section on the beach for lounge chairs and cabanas… with your own private butler!
Guests also have access to the restaurants at El Dorado Maroma.
The Seaside Group
Looking for affordable luxury? The Seaside Group is perfect for you. Located about 90 minutes from Cancun International Airport, these properties are perfect for the smart spending traveler, without sacrificing luxury.
All oceanfront - all swimout suites - all the fun.
This property is buzzing with pool parties, but at the same time offers amazing tranquil escapes.
El Dorado Seasinde Suites houses one of the largest spas in Riviera Maya and offers some one-of-a-kind authentic Mexican experiences.
Guests at this property have access to Seaside Palms, where they can enjoy additional restaurants, pools, and amenities.
As a bonus: the property has an abundance of Bali beds, at no additional cost, making it one of my favorite aspects of this property.
With over 1,000 palm trees on site, it is no wonder where El Dorado Seaside Palms got its name. The palm trees, in combination with a pristine beach perfect for swimming and weekly beach BBQs, and nightly entertainment make this resort feel like an oasis.
For our foodie travelers, El Dorado Seaside Palms is featuring a completely new Gourmet Inclusive® Experience, guaranteed to please every palette.
Lean in, I am going to tell you a secret: My favorite part of this property was a secret, often forgotten, nook at the end of the resort, called Frontera, with an abundance of palm trees, beach chairs, Bali beds, bar, and even a taco truck! It is at the furthest end of the resort, but well worth it for this little oasis.
Looking to leave it all behind, including your clothes, and immerse yourself in the ultimate freedom? Then this 42 room, nude, property is for you.
Yes, you read that right: nude, au naturel, in the bare, in the buff.
This “exclusive sanctuary where privacy and connection to the natural environment are celebrated in every detail” is ideal for any traveler looking to cloak themselves in tranquility, wellness and authenticity… and nothing else. Just don’t forget the SPF.
The property is (discreetly) nestled between Seaside Suites and Seaside Palms and guests are welcomed to both these properties as well, with the caveat of clothes being required.

Named one of the best beaches in the world by Travel and Leisure, Marama Beach is a must do! The water here is STUNNING.
Here, you will also have access to an amazing Mexican lunch - all you can eat with over 20 food stations!
*Try the corn soup and Conchinita tacos, they are my absolute favorite.
This is also where you will have access to jet skis and the Catamaran.
Catamarán & Reef Snorkel
This 4 hour excursion includes beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), bites and snorkeling gear.
